Well Trained Woofers: Obedience Class High Peak Dog Services

The first session will involve focus and connection, and lots of it, in a new environment, around new dogs and people!

No handler can work their dog without connection and the dog listening to them

So, in this lesson, we will develop the reliable and refreshing method of neutrality around distractions, for you to see, that with the right parameters and set up that your dog is capable of listening to you around lots of different distractions.

Once we have mastered the first stage of focus, then we will progress to the next stage where we test their skills and ensuring it is solid before you leave the lesson

There will be sufficient rest periods provided for the dogs during the sessions.

You will then be expected to practice your training throughout the week, ready for the following class.

It’s the second week, and we’ve left the curriculum open.

I want to be helping people with the behaviours they need the most help with and that will vary from class to class and person to person.

I will have plenty of things to suggest for training, but the most common issues I get asked about and what this class will likely work on will be loose lead walking and recall

Regardless of the training task at hand, we will be looking at precision in all of the ways you’re building behaviours.

I want your dog to do the behaviour on their own and without prompt from you, which is what dog training is about!

We want you to leave each lesson having learned a new skill and know exactly what to do in different situations when  training and handling your dog,

Be that them reliably responding to the ‘heel’ command.

Listening to their return to me commands

Waiting at the side of the pavement before crossing the road or greeting new people

Settling around multiple and various distractions

and much more!

It’s week three!

Moving forwards during the course, we will help you with the existing behaviour that you want to progress and complete, or teach you something brand new, so that you can work on different elements to your dogs training journey.

There are millions of things we can train with our dogs, and we’re here to help you, week by week to continually progress your dogs great behaviours.

Each class will assist with untangling the frustration or rebuilding the dogs confidence around different distractions week by week.
